At an event, Marcassoli said:
"I'm less skilled with words than I am with wood. Wood has always fulfilled some of my needs. In my work over the past few years, by gluing together pieces of wood with different shapes and angles, I've managed to create very subtle and harmonious forms that would be impossible to create from a log. Forms that highlight the emptiness within them, which, like clouds, should awaken memories, emotions, and images."
Giorgio has always had a passion for wood and everything related to it. He always enjoyed making small objects like candlesticks, card holders, and other small works by working and sanding this material. A restorer and carpenter, in recent years he had begun to devote more time to the artistic side of his work, thanks in part to acquaintances such as Elio Bianco, Facchinetti, and other artists from Bergamo. He has always been self-taught, finding small satisfactions in his passion.
